Hello there. I am Margie Pringle. I paint floorcloths. I've been an artist for more than 10 years. For me, painting began with a master gardener project. Master gardening began with membership in a bonsai club, which grew from a life-long love of plants, order and history. I like history because it tells us what our roots are.

My early painting projects were tole painted, that is, projects from patterns and painted mostly on functional surfaces. Over time I developed a talent for design and color theory. A few years ago, I saw a floorcloth and knew I had found something wonderful. They are historic in origin, contribute to orderliness in the home, and yet are artistic. They are the marriage of beauty and practicality. How wonderful!
My husband is my support. Without him I could not do what I do. He was my wood cutter when I tole painted. He is now my legs - he runs untold errands, finding supplies, researching products and sources, and driving to shows. He is my my hands and arms - he helps set up my booth at shows and moves my many work tables around the house. He is my head - he works out the load plan for getting a 10'x10' booth display into a minivan and he constantly tweaks the display hardware to make it better.
We were pleased to be named Artist of the Week by the Riverside Arts Market in Jacksonville, Florida. If you haven't visited the Market, you're missing something wonderful. There is good food, fresh-baked breads, brewed coffee, a farmers' market, live entertainment, street performers, and all sorts of art (fine art to crafts type things.)

My daughter is my emotional support. She always cheers for me.
My son-in-law is my technical support, my IT guy. He steers me right for all the computer stuff I can't live without, even if I didn't know I couldn't live without it.
My sister-in-law is my art consultant. She knows paint. She has been an oil painter for years. I can always rely on her to critique my work and suggest ideas for new projects.
My brother is my business advocate. He encourages me to get out there and show my work.
My sister cheers me on.
My grandsons - well, they're grandkids. There's nothing better than that.
